White Oak
A continuation of the series of chairs and stool, this lamp similarly takes advantage of the character in the wood grain to create its form.
Finding the right rock has become one of my favorite sports. This table is an exploration in reference of nostalgia and this activity.

One day I was visiting The Met’s Cloister Museum in New York and I saw a bundle of wheat sitting in the corner of the exhibit. It stood on its own as a proud display of exploding texture. I saw this and made sure to keep note. This chair uses the combined structure of over 1000 smaller legs to create a form reminiscent of the time I saw this bundle of wheat.

Inspired by the materials and techniques shown to me while working at a traditional thatching company, Kusakanmuri, I built this table as a gift to my roommates at the time.

Le Rayon Vert is a movie that follows a woman seeking the last bit of green light that flashes across the ocean as it sets, reflecting through the surface for just one half of a second. The legend stems from a book about when seeing this rare moment of light, you can understand your own emotions and those of other people with you.
Splitting my grandfather’s firewood this chair series was first designed with the intention of creating character through exaggerating the shapes natural to the grain. The finish is created by dying and burning the surface of the chair.

Nature is something that we all get very used to seeing, but when viewed from a different perspective it can become overwhelming. This shelving unit is an abstracted form drawing its imagery directly from my observations of nature and enjoying the sight of rain in the sun. The structure makes the surface appear as if it floats upon a rush of water.

Gathering this material near my grandparents town of Hamilton, Massachusetts, these objects symbolize natural phenomenon unable to otherwise be captured by words.

Paper
24"x10.5"x35"
Using recycled paper this chair came from looking at old style of making ladders. Taking a full log, leaning up against the structure you need to climb and cutting steps into its surface. Taking a look at paper and felt, each object responds to the material qualities and showcases its abilities.
Wool, Steel
30"x22"x37"
Weaving wool with Steel to make two hollow structures my partner Lisa Darland (Royal Danish Academy MFA 2019) and I collaborated on this combination textile and furniture based project.
Lisa’s expertise in textiles with my understanding of structure and form made it possible to make both disciplines integral to the result.
Glass
24"22"x22"
This table explored the ways of creating furniture using glass sand casting. A process with potential for a style of manufacturing that creates inherent variation if repeated in multiples.
